The recently
announced PlayTV accessory brings the PlayStation
3 one step closer to a convergent home multimedia
center. PlayTV is a twin-channel tuner peripheral
with DVR support, so TV shows can be recorded
directly the Play Station 3 hard disk drive, and
stored for later viewing, or just for posterity.
The recorded programs can then be sent to the
PlayStation Portable, where they can be viewed
on the go. PlayTV is planned for launch in 2008.
